Prom dress dreams made a reality

Prom will be taking place on March 27 this year, which is much sooner than in years past. Tickets will be on sale from March 8 to 26, with prices increasing weekly.
With all the finances that accompany prom, it’s sometimes difficult to find a likable dress at a reasonable price. Thankfully the organizations “Belle of the Ball” and “Dream A Dress” are here to help.
“Prom and Homecoming is a highlight for many high schools girls and one that calls for a pretty dress. But as formal season approaches, there are countless girls who are unable to afford a dress,” said Belle of the Ball on their website.
On March 6 and 19 Seminole Mall off of Park Blvd is hosting an event in which you can select a dress free of charge.
Students qualify to get one of these dresses if they’re on free and reduced lunch, or are referred by a school social worker or guidance counselor. Students must be present in order to receive the dress, so don’t send a parent to go get it.
These two organizations provide immense assistance for girls with financial need. They decrease girls limitations due to money issues. “No matter the situation, everyone deserves a chance to go to prom,” said freshman Cheila Gonzalez.
